Taiwan office in Nigeria continues to monitor Ebola outbreak
The Ebola virus

Head of the foreign ministry’s Department of West Asian and African Affairs, Wang Chien-yeh, says that Taiwan’s representative office in Nigeria is continuing to monitor the Ebola outbreak affecting parts of West Africa.

Speaking on Thursday, Wang said that the foreign ministry is keeping up with the latest developments in the outbreak. He also said that Taiwan’s representative office in Nigeria is in communication with the Nigerian government and the embassies of other countries in Nigeria.

Wang also said that Taiwan has sent a pair of doctors to Nigeria to assist Taiwanese businesspeople in the country.

So far, the outbreak has affected the West African nations of Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria. Nigeria is the only one of these four countries where Taiwan currently has a representative office.
