Examination Yuan President Wu Jin-lin took office on Monday. The Examination Yuan is one of the five branches of the government. It is tasked with the employment and management of civil servants.
Speaking at his inauguration ceremony, Wu promised to pursue fairness and exactitude and ensure that all national exams are flawless.
Wu also said he will continue to push for civil service reforms, following the footsteps of his predecessor John Kuan who stepped down Monday.
In the face of Taiwan’s dwindling birth rate and aging population, Wu also said the Examination Yuan will review the government’s pension scheme so that it is more in tune with current times.
