Economics Minister Woody Duh is going to attend the 2014 APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting held in Beijing on September 2 and 3. Duh and a delegation of energy experts departed on Monday.
The meeting will feature four topics. These include ensuring energy security, energy trading and investment, improving energy efficiency and sustainability, and securing clean energy sources and applications.
The economics ministry said Taiwan has been planning to propose an initiative about trading of liquefied natural gas (LNG) among APEC member countries. The initiative aims to make the trading of LNG more transparent and convenient. The Taiwanese delegation will seek support from other APEC economies for the proposal during the upcoming meeting in Beijing.
