A number of Taiwanese exhibitors are attending Indonesia’s largest travel fair, the Astindo Fair 2014 to promote tourism. A total of 29 travel agencies from Taiwan have set up booths there.
The Taiwanese exhibitors are set to give away paper sculptures and special gifts to visitors. A Taiwanese dance group, the Absence Dance Crew, is also set to give performances at the exhibition.
Taiwan’s representative to Indonesia, Chang Liang-jen, said that Indonesia is one of a number of Southeast Asian countries that grant Taiwanese visitors visas on arrival. Meanwhile, Indonesians make up the third highest number of travelers to Taiwan, and the number of visitors from Indonesia to Taiwan continues to grow. Indonesians made more than 170,000 visits to Taiwan in 2013. That was an increase of 4.71% from the previous year.
The three-day travel fair will open on Friday.
