The foreign ministry is demanding that the Geneva-based World Economic Forum (WEF) rectifies Taiwan’s name designation.
The ministry announced the demand on Thursday, after local media reported that Taiwan was referred to as “Taiwan, China” in the WEF’s latest competitiveness report.
China sees Taiwan as part of its territory, even though the two sides have been ruled separately for more than 60 years.
Foreign ministry spokeswoman Anna Kao said that Taiwan does not accept the designation. She also said Taiwan’s representative office in Geneva will continue to demand rectification from the WEF.
