A columnist at the Australian daily The Courier-Mail listed Taiwan’s sea salt coffee among the world’s weirdest coffee experiences.

The drink has sprinkles of sea salt on milk foam which tops sweet coffee. It’s a specialty of the local 85C bakery café chain, the largest local coffee chain in Taiwan. The chain has a variety of drinks, cakes and bread, which are sold in over 300 stores in Taiwan, China, Australia, and the US.

The paper’s travel columnist listed a total of 7 strange coffee experiences. In the US, you can drink coffee out of an ice cream cone lined with chocolate sauce. In Vietnam, you can enjoy egg coffee where egg yolk and condensed milk are whipped together and coffee is poured over the top and left to sink to the bottom. And meanwhile, in Finland, one can enjoy coffee poured over cheese cubes to make cheese coffee.
