Shares in Taiwan staged a technical rebound Wednesday as the bellwether electronics sector made a comeback in the wake of gains posted on Wall Street overnight.
Bargain hunters were active in picking up Apple concept stocks on renewed optimism toward their shipments on the back of solid pre-order sales of the two new iPhone models.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed up 61.77 points, or 0.67 percent, at 9,195.17, after moving between 9,159.85 and 9,252.38 on turnover of NT$81.48 billion (US$2.72 billion).
