Taiwan picks up Asian Games silver in women’s air pistol event
Starting with Silver

Taiwan picked up its first medal at this year’s Asian Games, which opened in Incheon, South Korea, on Friday.

The medal – a silver – came in the 10-meter Air Pistol Women’s Team Finals on Saturday. The team score comes from adding the individual scores of the top three performers on the team.

The team members from Taiwan’s team – Tien Chia-chen, Wu Chia-ying, and Tu Yi Yi-tzu – scored a total of 1,141 points, just five points short of the Chinese team, which clinched the gold.

The team from Mongolia won bronze with 1,140 points.

Saturday was the first day of competition for all of the events at the Asian Games, except for football, which began prior to the opening ceremony. The games will last through October 4.
