At a meeting of the World Association of Women Entrepreneurs on Wednesday, President Ma Ying-jeou praised Taiwan’s female athletes.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I’d like to share this news. I hope that you can see how Taiwan’s women have outperformed the men on the athletic field. Be careful! Not long from now, they will achieve the same in the business world. We men need to work hard and catch up with them," said Ma.
President Ma was referring to the fact that all of Taiwan’s gold medals won at the Asian Games so far have been won by female athletes.
