Taiwan won a gold medal at the Asian Games in Incheon on Thursday. Female cyclist Hsiao Mei-yu won the gold in the women’s point race in cycling.
Hsiao and a Chinese cyclist both placed first on Wednesday's race. But during the women's cycling finals on Thursday, Hsiao came in first in the 500m race, the single lap sprint, and the 25km point race, beating her competitor from China.
Earlier in the day, male rowers Wang Ming-hui and Yu Tsung-wei won the silver in the men’s double sculls with a time of 6 minutes 29.11 seconds.
On Wednesday, Taiwan snatched two gold medals in tennis and bowling, one silver in wushu and one bronze in weightlifting. All of the medalists were female athletes. Taiwan has so far accumulated 5 golds, 3 silvers and 6 bronzes at the games.
