Taiwanese designers have received the most nominations in the world in the World of Weareableart (WOW) contest. The New Zealand-based contest is an annual International Art and Fashion event where fashion designers can enter garments of wearable art.
Sixteen pieces made by twelve designers from Taiwan were nominated. This year’s participants include 172 fashion designers from 15 countries.
The Wellington Government held the opening ceremony at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa. Taiwan’s representative to New Zealand was present, and Taiwan was mentioned several times during the ceremony.
Many of the participants from Taiwan are students or fresh graduates. These young designers are showing the bright potential in Taiwan’s fashion design industry.
