Asian equity started the week mixed, with Hong Kong stocks tumbling on the back of escalating protests, while fresh signs of slowing growth in China weighed on overall sentiment.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange ended down 29.06 points, or 0.32%, at 8,960.76.
