In honor of the 103rd anniversary of the Republic of China’s founding, Taiwan’s representative to South Korea has invited the head chef of the Grand Hotel to come present Taiwanese specialties in Seoul.
Chef Wang Chuan-yi will be presenting some of Taiwan’s most famous dishes, such as Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, to leading officials and businessmen at a banquet in Seoul.
The “Taiwan Gourmet Banquet” event is taking place on October 1 at the Lotte Hotel Seoul and has a guest list of nearly 50 people. Some other specialties presented will include drunken chicken, five flavor small abalone, fried jumbo shrimp, Taiwanese seafood rolls, Dung-puo meat, and steamed red bean cakes.
Taiwan’s National Day, also known as Double-Ten Day, falls on October 10th every year.
Attendees will include former South Korean representative to Taipei Koo Yang-keun, and Baik Yong-Ki, the president of the Taipei Club in Seoul.
