Shares in Taiwan saw a technical rebound as investors chose stocks with relatively low valuations in the electronics and financial sectors.
Dealers said turnover remained low though as many investors were reluctant to chase prices amid fears of further volatility on Wall Street during the current earnings reporting season.
Taiwan shares closed up 57.00 points, or 0.65 percent, at 8,768.39 Tuesday on turnover of NT$73.70 billion (US$2.42 billion).
