Solving food safety problems is top priority: Premier
Premier Jing Yi-huah

Premier Jing Yi-huah has said that solving food safety problems and reforming the system are his top priority. Jiang said that if he can establish a system that can guarantee food safety in the future, he will have no regrets at all, even if he has to step down from his position.

During an interview with a local TV station, the premier said that the most important thing right now is to make sure people in Taiwan can eat and shop for food products without worrying about food safety. He said that Taiwan has never experienced a food scare of such magnitude, but he sees the crisis as an opportunity to implement reforms and solve food safety problems once and for all.

Jiang said that he is not someone that clings to power. But establishing a sound food management machanism takes time, and he hopes it can be done before his term as premier ends.
