The annual growth rate of Taiwan’s export orders jumped by 12.7% in September. That’s according to the latest government statistics, out on Monday.

The report said Taiwan’s export orders have showed positive growth for eight months in a row.

The economics ministry said that a growing demand for iPhones and laptops contributed about 12.8 billion US dollars in export orders for IT products and 11.5 billion US dollars in orders for laptops. Both of those are single month record highs for the last several years.

Export orders in the first three quarters of this year amounted to 340 billion US dollars, a record high for the third quarter in recent years. The economics ministry is cautiously optimistic about the remaining months of the year, saying that total export orders for this year are likely to reach 460 billion US dollars.
