A Canadian gelato store, Bella Gelateria, plans to expand into the Taiwan market. According to Vancouver-based business website BCBusiness, the “best known gelato maker” James Coleridge plans to open shop in Taiwan, as well as Singapore and Hong Kong.
The Canadian gelato vendor has won first prizes in ice cream competitions around the world in the short four years since he started his business. That includes the “Gelato Pioneer” title from the world’s largest gelato company Carpigiani in 2011. It was the first time the award was won by someone outside of Italy.
BCBusiness reported that Coleridge opened his second store in Vancouver in August and plans to launch a third store there in 2016. Besides eyeing the Asian market, Coleridge is slated to open its first international outlet in Los Angeles.
