The Chinese American Athletic Association showed their support for Lakers player Jeremy Lin in the Lakers game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. They sent 500 overseas Taiwanese to cheer Lin on.
The association said they began preparing to cheer Lin on three months ago. They brought boards with Jeremy’s name on it and many Taiwanese flags to cheer him on. Lin’s parents are from Taiwan so he has a big following in the Taiwanese community.
But the Lakers have not done well so far, and Tuesday’s game was their fifth straight loss. The Suns beat the Lakers 112 to 106. Lin scored 18 points, which is his highest score of the season, and 3 assists. Kobe Bryant scored 39.
NBA commentator James Worthy believes Lin needs to not overthink things and just go out and play. While he’s doing just that, the overseas Taiwanese community will be there to cheer Lin on.
