Shares in Taiwan extended losses Thursday from a session earlier amid lingering caution as the market faced stiff technical resistance at around 9,000 points.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed down 71.58 points, or 0.79 percent, at 8,891.02.
