Taiwanese pitcher Wang Chien-ming has accepted a minor league contract with a spring training invite from the Atlanta Braves. That’s the word from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday.
Wang, who is 34, had 19 consecutive wins for the Yankees from 2006 to 2007. The last Major League game he played was August 2013 for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Right-hand pitcher Wang spent the past season making a combined 28 starts for the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox. He posted a 4.12 ERA.
After the season is over, Wang will be making a trip back to Taiwan with his family in November.
