The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Wednesday that a working holiday agreement between Taiwan and Austria may take effect at the end of the year.
The two countries signed the agreement on Tuesday. Under the terms of the agreement, Taiwan and Austria will begin issuing six-month working holiday visas to each other’s nationals. The two countries have agreed to issue up to 50 of these visas every six months. Applicants to participate in the working holiday scheme must be 18 to 30 years old to be eligible for a visa.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it will announce the date that the agreement will take effect and details about application procedures at a later date.
Austria is the eighth country in Europe and the thirteenth country worldwide to conclude a working holiday agreement with Taiwan.
