Taiwan has been ranked 27th in the IMD World Talent Ranking. The ranking was released Thursday for the first time with the aim of assessing the ability of countries to develop and attract talented people to sustain the talent pool available for enterprises.

According to the report, Taiwan performed relatively well among Asian countries, behind only Malaysia in 5th place, Singapore in 16th, and Hong Kong in 21st.

In response to the report, Taiwan’s National Development Council said on Friday that the government would continue to review its policy and would launch new measures next month to attract and retain talent.

Among the 60 countries or regions included, Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, and Finland claimed the top four places.

IMD is a top-ranked global business school based in Switzerland. It said the ranking is based on more than 20 indicators, some of which are statistical and others drawn from an exclusive IMD opinion survey of 4,300 international executives.
