Taiwan is exploring opportunities for industrial partnerships with India under Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi’s “Make in India” initiative.

Deputy head of Taiwan’s Industrial Development Bureau, Leu Jang-hwa, made the announcement on Wednesday. He is currently visiting India with a delegation of Taiwanese businesses.

Leu said combining Taiwanese technologies with India’s brands and retail networks is one of the possible cooperation models. He also said such cooperation will mainly focus on the electronics, shipbuilding, and textile sectors, as proposed by the Indian government.

In addition to visiting the major industrial hub of Gujarat, the Taiwanese delegation is also scheduled to call on India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology in New Delhi.
