Taipei has placed 25th on the QS Best Student Cities 2015.

Quacquarelli Symonds, the education company behind the rankings, evaluated a number of cities around the world and selected 50. The company ranked the 50 cities based on five criteria: “student mix”, “quality of living”, “affordability”, “employer activity”, and “desirability”.

Paris topped this year’s list for the third year in a row. Melbourne placed second. Taipei placed behind Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Seoul, but ahead of Beijing, Shanghai, Kyoto, and Osaka. Taipei tied with Mexico City as the most affordable city in the rankings.

Evaluators also noted Taipei’s strength in terms of quality education, employment opportunities in the high-tech sector, and opportunities for travel.
