The 2014 IT Month has opened in Taipei. The annual information technology trade show, which kicked off on Saturday is expected to attract more than 900,000 visitors.
According to the event organizer, the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), the 2014 IT Month has 350 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of new electronic gadgets. TCA Chairman Tung Tzu-Hsien said that Taiwan has a lot of talent in the IT field, but the nation is also facing a lot of challenges. He said that the government should work with academics and businesses to help Taiwan’s IT industry expand further on the global stage.
The 2014 IT Month is being held at the Taipei World Trade Center to display IT products, demonstrate digital technology and showcase digital education technology.
Many international brands are taking part in the high-tech exhibition, including Taiwanese PC vendors Acer and Asus, Taiwan-based smartphone brand HTC, US-based electronics manufacturer Epson, Japan's Sony and Toshiba, and Lenovo of China.
