NY Times praises Taiwan as island of green in Asia
Taiwan, a green island in Asia

A New York Times article to be published on Sunday will be introducing Taiwan’s development in the areas of environmental protection, green projects and natural conservation.

Titled “Taiwan, an Island of Green in Asia”, US travel column writer Adam Graham will be recounting his impressions about a trip he made to Taiwan.

Graham writes “When Beijing’s smog levels became hazardous, Taiwan announced a network of ecotourism routes peppered with green buildings like the solar-paneled Beitou Library, [and] the Daan Forest Park metro station”. He also mentions new eco-parks like the Jou Jou Mountain Art and Ecological Park, which promote art and environmental protection.

Graham also writes that “Wulai, a mountain township and a protected water reservation area 25 minutes from Taipei by taxi, is known for its mountainous hot springs, river-tracing excursions, a combination of hiking, climbing and swimming…”.
