Woman files complaint against student leaders over occupation

Taipei prosecutors said Monday that they have accepted a case filed by a citizen against the two student leaders of the ongoing occupation of Taiwan's legislature.

A woman surnamed Tung, who describes herself as someone working in the legal profession, wrote on her Facebook page that she lodged the complaint on March 28 with the Taipei District Prosecutors Office against protest leaders Lin Fei-fan and Chen Wei-ting "on behalf of all citizens of the Republic of China."

Prosecutors said the case will be handled in accordance with the law.

In her post, Tung demanded that the protesters in the legislature and the lawmakers supporting their actions ensure that the legislative chamber is restored to its original form when they eventually leave. In addition to the suit against Lin and Chen, Tung said she will also file a suit against Legislative President Wang Jin-pyng if he "continues to condone the 318 Student Movement's occupation of the legislature."
