Foreign minister David Lin led a delegation on a visit to Belize on Wednesday. Lin will meet and strengthen ties with his counterparts from a number of Central American and the Caribbean countries.
Belize will host a conference of the Central American Integration System (SICA) from December 16-17. Taiwan is attending as an observer of SICA. Lin will be there to meet with Belize’s Governor General, Colville Young, and Prime Minister, Dean Barrow, to discuss issues of mutual concern to Taiwan and Belize.
Lin will also host a meeting in which the foreign ministers of Taiwan’s Central America and the Caribbean allies are expected to participate.
In addition, Lin will be visiting the Belize Inspiration Center, a center for disabled children, which Taiwan contributed funds to help construct.
