President Ma Ying-jeou has asked departing Swazi ambassador Njabuliso Busisiwe Gwebu to support Taiwan’s efforts to participate in international organizations.
Ma was speaking during a meeting with Gwebu on Wednesday. Gwebu will be leaving Taiwan to accept the post of Swazi ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Ma said that Taiwan hopes to join trade blocs such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). He said that Taiwan also hopes that trade talks under the framework of the WTO will continue to move forward.
