The government passed its 2015 plan for national development on Wednesday. Premier Mao Chi-kuo said it includes plans to improve the economy, environment and social justice.
Mao said the plan works towards economic growth, improved social welfare and environmental policies. It also works to benefit businesses and young people seeking employment.
Cabinet spokesman Sun Lih-chyun spoke about some of the goals.
"This plan takes into account domestic and international projections and unpredictable factors in the global economy and domestic economic conditions," said Sun. "The targeted economic growth rate is between 3.1% to 3.7%, the unemployment rate between 3.8% and 3.9%, and the consumer price index at under 2%. These are goals we can all work towards."
Premier Mao said global economic growth will benefit Taiwan’s recovery but there are still many uncertain economic factors to take into account.
