Taiwanese badminton player Tai Tzu-ying won the women's singles title in the Badminton World Federation's World Superseries Finals in Dubai on Sunday. The win moved Tai up two notches to 7th place in the world rankings.
Tai beat the world’s fifth top player, Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea, and walked away with US$80,000 in prize money.
The five-day tournament in Dubai was only open to the top eight players with the best overall performance in the BWF Superseries this year.
