More than 15,000 people watched the first sunrise of the New Year on Ali Mountain.
Braving 3.5 degrees Celsius weather, they headed out at 4am while it was still dark to take the Ali Mountain forest train to a platform 2,400 meters above sea level. The crowd attended the Alishan Sunrise Impression Concert, now in its 13th year, which began at 5 am. They then witnessed the first sunrise of 2015 at 7:05 am.
The concert was also broadcast live on TV.
