Tickets for Taiwanese pop diva Jody Chiang’s farewell concerts will not go on sale until Monday, but diehard fans were already camping out on Sunday to snatch up their last chance to see the singer.
Several fans began lining up in front of the ticketing agency’s building since Saturday. More are expected to join the line on Sunday.
Chiang made a surprise announcement that she will end her singing career this year with 16 farewell concerts between July and September in Taipei and the southern city of Kaohsiung.
Chiang started singing professionally at the age of 10 and has released 60 albums over her long career. She has won 11 Golden Melody Awards, the top honor in Taiwan’s music industry.
