The Huffington Post has reported that Californians are the biggest fans of Taiwanese food in all of the US. California boasts a concentration of Taiwanese restaurants that is 264 percent higher than the national average. The report is the result of a survey conducted by The Huffington Post and online reviews website Yelp.
Yelp first calculated the percentage of restaurants from a variety of global cuisines found in each of the US states. That percentage was then compared to a national average.
California has one of the largest immigrant populations in the US, including large numbers of immigrants from Taiwan.
