The UK Minister of State for Transport Baroness Kramer will visit Taiwan next week. That’s the word from the British Trade and Cultural Office Taiwan on Tuesday. Kramer will be the highest level official of the UK transportation ministry ever to visit. Kramer and her delegation will also be the biggest group in railway trade ever from the UK.
The British trade office said the purpose of the visit is to strengthen trade and investment between Taiwan and the UK, especially in railroads and urban renewal.
Besides giving a speech at a Taiwan-UK railway forum, Kramer will witness the signing of two memorandums between the two countries. One is between the UK’s Railway Industry Association and Rail Engineering Society of Taiwan. The other is between the UK’s National Rail Engineers Skills Academy and Taiwan’s China Engineering Consultants, Inc.
Kramer will also meet with Taiwan’s transportation ministry and government officials.
