Premier Mao Chi-kuo has given a report on major national policies to the government’s top watchdog.

During the report on Friday, Mao touched upon seven major areas of government policies—demography, economy, social justice, land planning, education, culture, and participation in the international community.

The premier said that starting from 2016, the size of the nation’s work force will decline by 150,000 workers every year, so the government will propose a demographic policy that can respond to future needs.

Mao said the overall goal of the government is to find new paths for young people, provide security for the elderly, help corporations create more opportunities, and give the disadvantaged a living environment with dignity.
