Taiwanese nationals have been advised to take care when traveling to the United States as an outbreak of measles continues to affect California.
Taiwan’s foreign ministry made a special note Saturday of the disease. California’s health department said the disease has hit at least 40 people in Disneyland since December. According to the latest statistics as of Friday, there have been 91 confirmed measles cases across the state.
Measles is a highly contagious viral disease and spreads through the air. It usually starts with a fever, runny nose, cough, red eyes, and sore throat, followed by a rash that spreads over the body. The disease is highly preventable through vaccinations.
