An animation, comics and games festival called Fantasy Frontier opened on Saturday in Taipei. Organizers said Sunday that some 40,000 people flocked to the opening of the two-day festival, held at the Expo Dome in the Taipei Expo Park.
About 1,500 exhibitors set up nearly 2,000 booths, making for the largest ever event since the biannual festival was first held in 2002. Organizers were predicting crowds of up 70,000 people to attend the event.
One of the highlights was a visit by Marina Inoue, a Japanese voice actress in the popular manga-turned-anime series "Attack on Titan”, who was scheduled to meet fans at the event later Sunday.
