Taiwan’s top experts in self-driving technology will visit Germany in November to explore foreign markets. That’s the word from James Huang, head of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

TAITRA held a forum on self-driving technology and its ecosystem on Tuesday. Huang said self-driving cars and related technologies will reshape many industries and Taiwan must stay current with the trends. Huang listed the technologies that are the focus of Taiwan’s self-driving industry moving forward. These include computer and mobile phone apps, artificial intelligence, quick-charging technologies, among others.

Huang will bring a dozen Taiwanese experts to visit Germany in November. The goal, he said, is to promote Taiwan’s technology in the sector and seek opportunities for collaboration.

Huang said Germany will be TAITRA’s first stop. He also wants to visit China, Japan and the United States to explore potential markets.
