The Taoyuan City Government is promoting a new half-marathon race. The event is set to kick off on November 30, with a starting point on the city’s Shihmen Dam.
The city government says that the race course features beautiful scenery, including a segment that runs among more than 3000 maple trees.
To help with the promotion, the city has teamed up with celebrities such as Taiwanese runner Kevin Lin. Lin is the only Taiwanese ultramarathon runner to have won “The 4 Deserts Race Series”, which requires participants to run 250km under harsh outdoors conditions over the course of a week. Lin said on Thursday that he hopes large numbers of people will sign up for Taoyuan’s new half-marathon event.
