Many people, especially those who frequently work out to lose weight, eat boiled food to reduce fat intake. However, medical experts have pointed out that eating only boiled food could lead to a number of health risks.
Boiled eggs, meat and vegetables are thought to be good for those who aim to eat healthy and lose weight. However, eating nothing but boiled foods could lead to a number of health problems.
Ms. Chang Sih-lan, a dietician from a Taipei health clinic said that a lack of oil in one’s diet could cause an imbalance in the food’s nutrition. This includes a lack of vitamins which could lead to a higher chance of developing gallstones and stunted muscle growth.
The dietician said that an adult needs on average two teaspoons of vegetable oil per day. She said eating the proper amount of oil is necessary for maintaining many bodily and organ functions and she has advised the public not to eat only boiled food.
