The famous painting Along the River During the Qingming Festival can now be seen at the Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts.
The exhibit opened on Tuesday but offers a different experience of the masterpiece than the National Palace Museum. It is a digital portrayal of the iconic painting. The unique high tech display also uses VR technology.
The National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts opened in October 2018 and has brought much local and international art to southern Taiwan. The venue itself has been highly acclaimed for its design. The center is the world’s largest performance venue under a single roof. The now iconic undulating roof resembles the leaves of banyan trees which are found throughout the area. The center was designed by the Dutch architecture firm Mecanoo.
