The science ministry held a press conference on Tuesday to preview a number of new technologies that will be presented at FUTEX 2019, an upcoming tech exhibition.
Top university research teams showcased their latest tech products. A team from National Tsing Hua University showed voice recognition technology that recognizes what a person is saying, and the speaker’s emotions as well. The team said the tech has applications in customer service and a number of other industries.
Another team from National Chiao Tung University showcased a new sensor that’s capable of detecting the benefit of Chinese herbal medicine based on the analysis of the soil in which it is planted. The team said the technology can help improve the quality of Chinese medicine and expand its market.
FUTEX 2019 is set to run from December 5 to 8 in Taipei.
