The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has opened a training center in Taipei.
IATA provides training for airline, air freighter, and airport staff in skills such as the safe transport of dangerous substances. The new training center is the sixth IATA has opened in Asia and the 30th it has opened worldwide.
Its decision to open its first training center in Taiwan comes despite the fact that Taiwan is excluded from the International Civil Aviation Organization. The Taipei training center will save Taiwan’s airlines and shipping companies money by allowing their employees to complete IATA training locally.
