Taiwan’s baseball team will not be competing in the 2020 Olympics. The team was knocked out of the running for a spot at the 2020 Games on Friday, after a loss to the US team in the Premier12 baseball tournament. The tournament is the qualifier for next year’s Olympics.
Taiwan shined early on in the game. A solo home run put the team up by two to one at half time. But the US team turned the tide in the second half and ended up with seven strikeouts, eventually winning the game with a score of three to two.
Taiwan’s head coach walked off the field right after the game and did not speak to any media outlets.
