Switzerland’s World Trade Institute and Taiwan’s Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research have held a seminar on Taiwan’s role in the US-China trade war.
The seminar took place Thursday in the Swiss capital, Bern.
The seminar focused on the impact of the trade war on Taiwan and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Speakers from Taiwan introduced Taiwan’s social and economic structures, and the country’s role in the ongoing trade war. They said that Taiwan provides a complete supply chain in Southeast Asia, and that the return of Taiwanese companies from China has put Taiwan in an even more critical position in the tariff war.
Taiwan’s representative to Switzerland, David Huang, says he was glad to see the Swiss and Taiwanese think tanks working together.
