Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je and Hongwell Group CEO Kent Hsu have signed an investment contract for the Taipei Twin Towers project.

The Taipei Twin Towers is a skyscraper that will stand next to the Taipei Train Station, in the city’s central Zhongzheng District. The building is planned by the Taipei City government, which says it will be the city’s new center for shopping, work and tourism.

After several investors fell through, the city reached an agreement with the local Hongwell Group this month. The new building is set to be finished by 2026. The city said the twin towers can provide 16,000 new job opportunities.
