A micro-film by high school students has picked up the top prize in the education ministry’s “Caring for Animals on Campus” competition. The film – “23 Campus Dogs” – features the students interacting with the dogs on their 33-hectare campus.
This high school in the eastern county of Taitung has 23 dogs on campus.
Each one has its own job. Some are security guards who chase down cars that don’t stop to get a pass at the entrance.
Others watch the garage and the place where carpenters and electricians keep their materials.
The dogs all live freely on campus. They have different personalities, depending on which department raises them.
This dog waits patiently during target practice… and then helps retrieve the arrows!
The students love spending time with the animals. They actually take turns feeding and walking them.
They say they’re surprised that their film won top prize in a competition.
Watching them interact, it’s easy to see that the “dogs are students’ best friend”. They say that hanging out with the dogs is a great way to relax after baseball practice… and clearly, the dogs love it too!
