Taiwan’s average temperature in 2019 was its highest on record. That is according to figures released by the Central Weather Bureau.

The bureau released its year-end weather report on Tuesday. The numbers show that Taiwan recorded an average temperature of 24.56 degree Celsius, the highest ever in recorded history. The temperatures saw the most uptick earlier in the year, between the months of January and April, whereas average rainfall volume remains in the same range as that of the last few years.

The bureau said that, despite the warming weather so far this winter, temperatures across Taiwan could see still sudden changes due to cold fronts. The bureau has called on the public to stay updated on weather forecast and prepare accordingly.
