Transportation Minister Lin Chia-lung says aviation safety is the key factor in determining whether the government will revoke the operating license of Far Eastern Air Transport (FAT).
The airline abruptly announced on December 12 that it was ceasing operations due to financial difficulties.
The Civil Aeronautics Administration had planned to rescind the airline’s operations permit. However, after three weeks, it has yet to take action.
In an interview on Tuesday, the transportation minister said that his ministry will act in line with the law in deciding whether to revoke the airline’s operating license. He said that there will be no political considerations behind the final decision.
